I’m Joanne. I have been juggling various life roles and been squeezed between the needs of other people, places, and things for many years. I know what it’s like to lose sleep over the needs of kids, not being able to take “more” time off from work. I know what it’s like to have health issues that were likely created by long term stress.
I’ve watched the health and mental health of my parents decline, and then mourned their death. I struggled to be supportive and helpful while geographically distanced. I’ve tried to be available to the sister who carried most of the physical burden of caring for our parents.
I’ve had the conversation in my head about whether “it’s time” to take away the car keys from parents while at the same time developing and enforcing the rules for car keys for teens and young adults.
I’ve lived the often conflicting priorities of parenting teens and young adults with nurturing a new career.
Sure, I’ve heard the “Oxygen Mask” metaphor many times. So many that it may have lost meaning. Of course, it’s an apt metaphor. But, how, practically, can you make “self-care” choices that nourish and create sanctuary when you are pulled so many directions and you feel like the energy is sucked out of you on a daily basis?
Well, that is what this site and my business is all about.
I want to help you manage your time, energy, and personal resources so that you can best identify the needed priorities in spite of the noise of the demands around you.
